Pancho's

I've been following Pancho's on Facebook for quite a while now and when I saw that on Sundays kids eat free with an adult main purchase I thought it would be a great spot to take the family to celebrate my daughters 5th birthday as she loves her Mexican (ie Mum's attempt of it).

Located at 885 Albany Highway in Victoria Park you look for the light at the end of the tunnel (or mall) and you have found it!
We were seated in a great little private spot and the kids were soon at home with activity sheets and pencils to keep them entertained while waiting for food which wasn't long!
The kids meals start with a small con queso dip and chips (above)
My husband and I started with Trio of Dips (above $17) and chose sour cream, guacamole and chilli con carne. I really like the guacamole as I love my avocado!

Next came the girls 2nd dish, nachos (above) and chicken enchilada (2 above). I think next time we would get them both the enchilada as after already having chips with the dip earlier it was chip overload and my 3 year old is the slowest eater so by the time she got through the top ones the others were getting cold and soggy. My eldest loved her enchilada though and it was soon gone so she could get back to drawing.
My husband went with the Cajun Pollo (above, $28) which he really enjoyed. I got a tiny taste of it and liked the flavours in the chicken.
I had checked out Urbanspoon before coming and saw that a few people recommended the prawn dishes so went with the Burrito Del Mar (above, $28) and loved it! It's not a great photo on the iPhone and being in a dark area but it had lovely, juicy, fat prawns inside. I was wishing I hadn't had the chips and dips before as by the end of it I was sharing it with my husband and kids as I couldn't finish it all myself and didn't want it to go to waste.
There was no way I could fit in dessert but the kids meals included icecream so they were happy with their 2 big scoops of vanilla icecream with chocolate sauce and a cherry on top!

The kids meals also came with a drink. On Sundays you can get the slushie flavour of the day but mine wanted juice. The apple juice came with a slice of apple and the pineapple juice a slice of pineapple which the kids thought was very special.

The staff came around with sombreros which we all put on and had photos in which is when J declared it was the best night out ever!

Service was very attentive and friendly especially as it was packed! When we left at 7pm I didn't see a free table!

Highchairs are available.

I booked online from their website which was extremely easy and bookings are recommended.

The kids eat free deal is every Sunday including this one on Father's day but they are nearly full so if you are thinking of trying it ring or try online for a table. On other nights the kids meal is $14.50.

Probably one of the most family friendly places I have been to in Perth, it was amazing how quickly the hour we were there went and the kids were all happy the whole time and we felt very welcome.

Open for dinner Tuesday-Sunday from 5pm.

  1. I have been waiting for this post since I saw you had gone to Pancho's! Sounds great, will definitely keep it in mind for our next family night out :)

  2. Panchos are ok but they have NOTHING on Mexican Kitchen in Fremantle. Kids choices are chilli quon queso dip, cheesey quesadillas or nachos. They also get a drink and icecream with topping for dessert. And the food for the adults is so much better than Panchos.
